Mirian and Charlotte quickly helped improve the quality of life for my entire family (me, my husband and two cats) by helping me understand my moody cat's unmet needs and fears.
Carson has been challenging for years: he hisses, grows and swats at my husband who is NOT a cat person. My husband began to deeply resent Carson. The behavior grew worse over time. He also sometimes bullies my older kitty who is now smaller and weaker than he is.
I ruled out medical issues - he was perfectly healthy. I was so frustrated we even tried kitty prozac as a last resort, but he refused to take it long term.
The changes suggested by Mirian made a big difference. Since I stopped allowing him outside in his cat tent (where he could see other cats in the yard) and spent more time playing with him before bedtime, he is MUCH improved.
More recently, I added "one on one time" with him -- he and I spend time daily "working" together in my home office while Pepper is outside in his tent. He just needed more reassurance and attention. Highly recommend.

Our beloved kitty Bit Bit, is an extremely shy "scaredy cat" with a history of trauma. She is a rescue kitty who came to us with signs of physical trauma. Her well being is always been a concern for us while we are away from home, because we don't want to stress her unnecessarily.

I have a senior rescue cat named Truffle. She is very sweet but carries emotional trauma from her first 4 years living on the streets. Charlotte and Mirian are amazing cat whisperers who have taught me, as a first-time cat mom, how to understand and gently shape (as well as adapt to!) Truffle’s behavior. They have also guided me through cat care, carrier difficulties, severe gastrointestinal issues, and a life-threatening reaction to a feline opioid. Charlotte’s and Mirian’s deep love of cats is evident, and they have a profound and intuitive understanding of cat thinking, motivation, and behavior.
As someone who previously had only dogs, I have had to learn a great deal about cats’ unpredictability, intelligence, and sensitivity (not craziness!). Charlotte and Mirian have become Truffle’s beloved aunties, and I cannot recommend them highly enough if you need guidance in dealing with any type of kitty issue.

My husband and 2 cats (11YO and 2YO girl kitties named Bootsie and Ru) and I are preparing for a new member of our family, our first child, in 6 months. We are very excited and also aware that this will change the dynamics at home. Recognizing this, our first inclination was to get help from experts who are seasoned professionals with animals and that we know from K-9 Kats, and we reached out to The Kitty Shrink. Specifically, we know the folks who run this from the last 6 years that we have worked with their partner company, K-9 Kats to care for our kitties when we are out of town. Their services have been invaluable, nothing compares with their level of dedication, level of detail, reliability, and true care they have for our fur babies. My husband always says that we wouldn’t leave home if it wasn’t from the comfort we gain knowing K-9 Kats is taking care of our girls so well.
Since our experience with K-9 Kats has been incredible and we truly see them as extended family who care and love our girls so much, we knew they could help provide guidance in how to navigate these new waters of introducing a new baby human to our home through the Kitty Shrink consultation. They were able to assess our cats’ personalities and behaviors, to provide personalized counseling and advice on the next steps to prepare our family for the arrival of a new baby. These were very attainable goals and also clearly outlined the importance of starting sooner than later. For example, our youngest cat, Ru is 2YO and more territorial, and we have been trying to teach her to be gentler. the Kitty Shrink counseling guided us to start actually saying the word “gentle” when giving “high value” treats - AKA Greenies for our girls- and have Ru learn to associate that with taking the snack out of the palm of our hand gently with her mouth or paw. It’s been incredible to see the progress with this in just a few months tbh! We have found that she has become overall with her demeanor gentler in that she allows for kisses now with our old cat and she has let us start having a lil more lap time with her! She is usually all about play and being a wild lady, which we love, and we also love this gentle cuddly side of her that we are now learning more about thanks to The Kitty Shrink’s insight and advice! We know this gentler side will be critical for Ru to adjust to the baby when she arrives!
